Race Unity Day was started by the Baha'i National Spiritual Assembly in 1957 with the intention of promoting racial harmony and understanding. According to the Baha'i faith, "Baha’u’llah stated unequivocally that humanity is a single race and called on the world to recognize the principle of human oneness in all spheres of life."
Although this is a Baha'i holiday, it is encouraged to be celebrated universally. Due to its cultural and religious roots there are usually community initiatives that decide to celebrate the holiday in their own particular way. However the most effective way to participate would be to find your local multicultural group and find out the ways in which they are promoting inclusion. Other ways can include making a post stating your solidarity or celebration of the holiday.
