Dhammachakra Pravartan Din is a Buddhist festival heavily celebrated in India commemorating the conversion of Dr. Ambedkar and his 600,000 followers to Buddhism. Predominantly celebrated on the 14th of October every year to mirror the day of his conversion to Buddhism.
This day is to celebrate the moment Dr. Ambedkar freed himself from the caste system and began following the path like other Buddhist. It also is symbolically seen to heavily represent the breaking of chains and oppression and instead celebrate freedom and signifies transformation. Dhammachakra Pravartan Din holds special significance to anyone freeing themselves of previous chains they were bound to and converting to Buddhism.
Teachings and preachings of Buddha and Ambedkar are spread and many cultural events are organized for this occasion as thousands of people convert to Buddhism every year to commemorate the benefit to humankind.
