Welcome to the Food Services Website for North Haven Public Schools!

Summer Meal Information:

For those children and parents new to the cafeteria this year (and as a reminder for those returning) here are a few guidelines on how the cafeteria operates:

#1 - Costs

Milk:                  $0.60

Note: Lactaid milk is available for students with lactose intolerance.

Breakfast      Breakfast is free to all students for the 23-24 School Year

Served Every Day in Every School

(This is our “meal” price, which includes the main entrée, one 8-oz. milk and additional daily fruit.)

Lunch:              $2.75* (Elementary)
                          $3.00, $3.15, $3.65** (Middle & High School)

*This is our “meal” price, which includes the main entrée, one 8-oz. milk and additional daily fruit and vegetable selections.

**Price will be reflected on the sign for each station.

Please note it is required by new USDA regulations that a “meal” must include a fruit or a vegetable.  If your child chooses not to take one of these options, we must charge them the A la Carte price of $3.00 for the entrée, plus $.60 for their milk.

Please encourage your children to take a fruit or vegetable with their meal.

If you wish to restrict your child from buying a la carte snack items, please call Salvatore Rizzo, Director of Dining Services at 203-239-6415 to have a notation placed on your child’s account for our reference.

***Per new USDA Guidelines, juice is no longer included as part of the “meal” and must be purchased as an a la carte item.

#2 - Placing Money on Your Child’s School Lunch Account

There are two ways:

Go to www.mySchoolBucks.com and register a free account. Go to the "Parents" tab, then "School Nutrition/Lunch".

Under "Helpful Links" click on mySchoolBucks

  1. A confirmation email will be sent to the email address you provide; click on the link included in the email message to activate your account.
  2. Activate your account and begin adding your students. You will need their school name and student ID or birthdate. You can also track your child’s purchases and manage their balance.
  3. Add funds to your students’ accounts with your Visa, MasterCard, Discover Card, debit card, or electronic check. Please note there is a $2.50 flat transaction fee per transaction. Money deposited into lunch accounts can take up to 12 hours to post.

Or

Your child can bring cash or a check paid out to North Haven Cafeteria Fund to the cafeteria any morning, whereby we will apply the money to their account.

  1. Money must be brought to the cafeteria in the morning only. We cannot stop to enter money onto an account during lunch service.
  2. Money must be put into an envelope or Ziplock bag and must be clearly labeled with the following information:
  • Child's first and last name
  • Teacher's name
  • Dollar amount enclosed (if cash)

These steps are imperative to ensure money does not get lost.

Notes will be sent home when your child is close to or has run out of money. Your child will be allowed to charge a total of three meals “of their choice”. On the event of the fourth charged meal and beyond you will be contacted directly.

Please do not allow your child’s account to reach this stage. We’ve had many unhappy students when their choices are taken away. We want their experiences in the cafeteria to be happy ones!
